Bauxites and Aluminas. A History and a Heritage in Question
Cette pré-conférence est un travail préalable à la session Aluminium: From the Myth of the Horn of Plenty to the Imperatives of the Circular Economy (from the 19th to the 21st Century). Mobilisation of Resources and Sustainable Development? Organisée par l’Institut pour l’histoire de l’aluminium (www.histalu.org), cette session se tiendra au World Economic History Congress (WEHC) de Paris, du 25 au 30 juillet 2022. Une seconde pré-conférence, axée sur la production d’aluminium à partir d’alumine et diverses ressources dont l’électricité, est organisée à la Norwegian University of Science and Technology de Trondheim en mai 2022.
This pre-conference is a prelude to the Aluminium session: From the Myth of the Horn of Plenty to the Imperatives of the Circular Economy (from the 19th to the 21st Century). Mobilisation of Resources and Sustainable Development? Organized by the Institute for the History of Aluminum (www.histalu.org), this session will be held at the World Economic History Congress (WEHC) in Paris, July 25-30, 2022. A second pre-conference, focusing on aluminum production from alumina and various resources including electricity, is being organized at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim in May 2022.
