Au c\u0153ur de cette utopie corporelle, la possibilit\u00e9, le r\u00eave ou le fantasme d\u2019augmenter (ou de prolonger) les capacit\u00e9s du corps occupent une place centrale. Cette augmentation du corps peut se faire de multiples mani\u00e8res : par ajout (de compl\u00e9ments corporels, accessoires ou implants), par une modification de l\u2019apparence corporelle (maquillage, chirurgie esth\u00e9tique, tatouages, accessoires), en accroissant les facult\u00e9s physiques et mentales par la chimie (potions, injections, dopage, drogues), par mutation g\u00e9n\u00e9tique, par appareillage, greffe bionique ou ajouts techniques permettant d\u2019augmenter les capacit\u00e9s sensorielles ou les performances physiques du corps (casques de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle, exosquelettes) ou encore par clonage (augmentation par nombre). La th\u00e9matique du corps augment\u00e9 \u00e9veille les imaginaires et est \u00e9troitement reli\u00e9e \u00e0 la litt\u00e9rature, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9criture. Elle convoque \u00e9galement des questions d\u2019\u00e9thique, de droit, elle met au centre de la r\u00e9flexion la question de l\u2019identit\u00e9 ainsi que, notamment dans la litt\u00e9rature de science-fiction, la relation entre libert\u00e9s individuelles et pouvoirs.
